The Artificial Intelligence Group was founded in 1999 to consolidate and promote research and teaching in the field within University Rey Juan Carlos. Group activities comprise a variety of research lines, that are tied together by the intelligent agent paradigm. Currently, they focus on the fields of Multiagent Systems, Knowledge Modelling, Information Retrieval, and Semantic Technologies. The outcomes of research are tested in a variety of domains. Group members have developed real-world applications in areas such as Mobile Health, Transportation Management, Smart Grids, or E-Commerce.
The group's activities in the fields of R&D&I are carried out within the framework of the Centre for Intelligent Information Technologies (CETINIA) of University Rey Juan Carlos.
